Mixed Media Upcyled Canvas Project

Hi Everyone,

Today I would like to bring to you a small mixed media canvas which has been created with a lot of upcyled components. The things I find at my local op shop (that would be thrift story for anyone in the US), always amazes me. One day I found all these items on the same visit, below you will see someones half finished semi stitched craft felt project, an old spoon, a screw, a broken necklace and press studs. I set myself a little internal challenge to include all these items into one project.

And the results was this......I understand this is a little wacky and may not be to everyones liking, but that is ok, art is subjective. I create for  myself and myself only, I think as long as I finish it and say 'I like it' that is all that matters.

Many thanks for stopping by to my blog. I wish you all a very happy and creative day.

The Journey - Mixed Media Canvas

Hello my creative friends...

Today I bring to you a canvas I have entitled 'The Journey'. This week I have to admit has been a rather tough one for me emotionally, there has been more lows than highs this week. This canvas was created with some sadness in my heart, however with sadness eventually comes some light and sunshine. Sometimes our journeys can be tough, but each step makes us a little bit stronger and teaches us something.

I created this canvas solely to enter into 'The Designer's Faves Challenge' Glitter, Metal, Contrast from the Finnabair Creative Team. This challenge is closing on the 15th of this month, I am bringing this canvas in just in the knick of time. I find working to a deadline works well for me, makes me move, inspires me to get into my studio and create. Can I also just say positive feedback from you all lately has been overwhelming on social media, THANK YOU, I feel the love, seriously.

This challenge required glitter, not something I usually work a lot with to be honest, but boy oh boy did I enjoy getting my sparkle on (glitter on my face for days!). You will see dazzling gold raised dots, a glitter vial and glitter throughout the feathered part of her head piece. The metal part of the challenge, oh metal, how I love thee, I don't think I need to point out the metal for you.

Time to Dream - Mixed Media Canvas

It is often so easy to get caught up in life and not take time for yourself, not take time to sit, relax and create. Recently I have begun to make small adjustments to my life, I will not bore you with all the details here, however I would like to share with you that I do plan to create more and share more with you. It is time. I am pleased to see I still have followers here, thank you, this means a lot to me, you loyal crew!!.

I must be the last person to get hold of some of the Art Alchemy waxes!! they arrived this week and it was time to play. This is my third under water scene and instead of my usual green and blue theme I went with a whole range of colours which I dabbed on with a paint brush. The Art Alchemy waxes by Finnabair are a dream to work with over black gesso - LOVE. I think I will now need to go back and buy the missing colours to complete my collection.

Thank you for taking the time to take a look, any question please do not hesitate to get in touch with me.

Take time to create today (if not create, take time to relax).
