Mixed Media Canvas Project

This week my lovely friend Michelle (Bubbachooka) loaded to sb.com an absolutely stunning canvas she created and it is entitled Marilyn. It was gorgeous beyond belief and I immediately decided I had to have a go at making one too, how to do it? where to begin? I asked so many questions. Michelle pointed me in the direction of Lee's (LuvLeeScrapping) YouTube video entitled Sweet November. This video is in two parts and takes you step by step through the process on how to create something like this (thank you Lee, excellent tutorial).

Very happy with how this turned out, thank you for stopping by.

Graphic 45 Design Team 2013 Audition

It is that time of year again, Graphic 45 is having another most exciting design team call. For the last two years I have watched this call roll by with the thought of applying but never actually following through (am I good enough? could it really happen? why would they choose me? - enough is enough!). This year I am throwing caution and semi doubtful thoughts to the wind and jumping right on in and giving it a go. I absolutely and positively LOVE Graphic 45 and truly believe their products are very well suited to my slightly quirky design style.

As part of the application process, we are to post a minimum of 6 of projects. I have split my chosen projects over two categories.

Category 1 - My Favorite Graphic 45 Layouts
Category 2 - My Favorite Graphic 45 OTP Projects

Best of luck to everyone who has entered the Graphic 45 Design Team Call for 2013.
Wish me luck!

12 Tags of 2013 - Tim Holtz (February)

Very happy to get all inky again today and to get cracking making the February tag for 12 Tags of 2013. I have to admit I did go into a slight panic when I realised I did not have the right stamps, any distress markers, or kraft core impressions paper. Thinking cap on, I stepped outside of the box a little and think I managed to still make a tag kind of similar (yet rather different). I am happy with how it has worked out and will now proudly show off my rather stained hands for at least few days.

Looking forward to seeing what challenges the March tag brings me

Be happy and creative.

Gift Tags - Tim Holtz Inspired

Madness!! I have gone from not joining in on the Tim Holtz tags challenge to being completely in love with making tags. Since making making my previous tag (January, seen previously) I have created eight more, I am now a little addicted to making tags

I have thoroughly enjoyed putting these together and they all now proudly hang in my craft room on display. One day I may actually bring myself to attach them to a gift, until then though, they are all mine to enjoy.

12 Tags of 2013 - Tim Holtz (January)

Each year I see Tim Holtz start his 12 tags series and I ALWAYS intend on joining in but never do. This year is a year of change and I thought I would kick the new year off with getting creative and joining right in with '12 Tags of 2013'. I thoroughly enjoyed putting this tag together and now my fingers are all wonderfully inky.

Thankfully I thought ahead and decided to make two tags as I always seem to get attached to my work and never want to give it away. Now I have one for me and one for someone else.

Happy New Year to you all!!!

Graphic 45 - Bird Song Shadow Box

Here is a little shadow box I put together using the gorgeous Bird Song papers from Graphic 45. I am completely in love with this collection, I am not sure what I love more, this range or Olde Curiosity Shoppe (they are both too gorgeous!!).

To make this project I took a small balsa wood shadow box and slowly covered it all in the Bird Song Papers. Once covered I 'Modge Podged' the whole lot to give it a nice glossy shine. I then added bronze embellishments, a bit of ink, hand folded fans and some gold rub n buff. Super happy with how this turned out.

Here are a couple of close ups and different angles, thanks for stopping by!!

Scrapbookit - Basic Grey, Soleil Collection

Happy Weekend to you all, welcome to Saturday :-)

Today I am delighted to bring you a bright and happy collection of papers from Basic Grey's Soleil collection

Our final layout challenge for this year is to scraplift a fabulous page that Mel our DT leader has designed. Please find below firstly Mel's layout and then my lift following straight after.

I only made a few minor changes to my own layout, following Mel's to be closely the same yet a little different. I thought theses papers perfect for page one of my upcoming baby album. I have kept it no secret I am having a girl and now by showing this I am announcing her name too, I am ok with this ;-)

Janene has set our card challenge for the month and the challenge is to create a Christmas card using lace as an embellishment. My own personal challenge was to create a card using pastel coloured based papers, could it be done? yes it can!!. Christmas cards do not necessarily need to always red and green do they? throw some colour in I say (and use only a little green or red!)

We welcome you to all join in our challenges, so please be sure to email your interpretations through to Jo at joanne@scrapbookit.com.au by December 14th. You can pop on over to the gallery (click here) to check out all of the entries.
I look foward to bringing you a few of my other creations using these papers early next month, until then though keep happy and creative!!
